At least 14 newborn babies have died in a fire that broke out in the maternity ward at one of Pakistan’s most prominent state hospitals.
The blaze began in the early hours of Wednesday and engulfed the ward at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the biggest state hospital in Islamabad.

At least 15 newborns killed after fire rips through maternity ward in Pakistan
At least 15 newborns have been killed after a fire broke out at a state-run hospital in Pakistan's capital Islamabad.
It started at around 7am (3am BST) at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), on the third floor of the hospital's mother and child health ward.
There were 16 newborns in the ward when the fire broke out - oly one of whom was rescued.
